Winston-Salem Dash News Release

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Aug. 2, 2014) - The Chicago White Sox and the Winston-Salem Dash have announced that left-hander Carlos Rodon will pitch out of the bullpen in the Dash's series finale with the Lynchburg Hillcats (Atlanta Braves) on Sunday at 5 p.m. from BB&T Ballpark.

Seats for Sunday's game are available by calling the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visiting wsdash.com. They can also be purchased the day of the game beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are available for as low as $7.

Rodon made his Dash debut on Wednesday afternoon and worked the eighth inning, during which he surrendered two runs on one hit. The Holly Springs, N.C., native struck out three and walked two over a 33-pitch appearance. Rodon joined Winston-Salem from the Arizona League, where he pitched twice.

Last month, the White Sox drafted Rodon out of North Carolina State University with the third overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft. This was the highest draft pick by the White Sox since the club selected Harold Baines with the top pick in 1977.

MLB.com lists Rodon as the top prospect in the White Sox system and the 23rd-best among all current Minor Leaguers. Baseball America considered Rodon the best college prospect in this year's draft class.

Rodon and the Dash continue a three-game set with Lynchburg on Saturday night at BB&T Ballpark. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit wsdash.com or call (336) 714-2287.
