Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI--The Milwaukee Admirals annual FM106/Miller Lite Country Music Night takes place this Friday, January 28th when the Admirals host the Peoria Rivermen at 7:00 pm and then country music star Rodney Atkins performs in a post-game concert. In addition to the concert, the first 5,000 fans will take home an Admirals pennant, courtesy of Patrick Cudahy.
The Rodney Atkins concert is free with a game ticket and there are still a limited number of exclusive on-ice passes available that allow fans to watch the concert from the ice directly in front of the stage. The on-ice passes are $20 and can be purchased at the Admirals office (510 W. Kilbourn Ave.), the Bradley Center Box Office or by phone at (414) 227-0550.
A born and raised Tennessean, Atkins made country music history when his 2006 album If You're Going Through Hell became the first album with four number one hits in four years. The lead track from the album entitled "If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)" was the first number one hit and it became the number one country song of the year in 2006, according to Billboard. The following year the follow-up song "Watching You" earned him a second consecutive number one hit as well as the number one country song for 2007.
Two more songs from that album, "These Are My People" and "Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy)" also reached number one status and the album went on to become certified as platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Because of the success of If You're Going Through Hell Atkins earned the Academy of Country Music's Top New Male Vocalist award, plus five other ACM nominations and two Country Music Association nominations.
Then, in November, 2008 Atkins released his third album Its America, which rose all the way to number three on the US Country charts. The first single from that album "Its America" became his fifth number one when it topped the charts in May of 2009. The second single, "15 Minutes," was released to radio on May 26, 2009, where it debuted at #57 on the country charts and peaked at #20 in September 2009, marking his seventh Top 20 hit on the country chart.
