Admirals to Paint Face-Off Circles Green & Gold

January 26, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that the team will paint the four face-off circles green and gold for their next three games to show their support for the Green Bay Packers as they prepare for the Super Bowl on February 6. The green and gold will adorn the face-off circles for the team's game this Friday, January 28th against the Peoria Rivermen, for next Friday, February 4th when the Admirals host the Rockford IceHogs, and on Wednesday, February 9th versus Peoria.

"From one successful organization to another, we want to wish the Packers luck as they look for their 13th NFL Championship," said Greenberg. "Here at the Admirals we are caught up in Green Bay mania and the green and gold face-off circles are a great way to show our support for the Pack."

The Bradley Center will begin the process of shaving the ice to allow for the painting immediately after the Admirals finish their practice at the building on Thursday morning. After a large enough layer of ice is shaved off the top, the Bradley Center maintenance crew will paint each of the face-off circles, and then the ice will be rebuilt to its original thickness after the painting is complete.
