The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned right wing AKIM ALIU from the Chicago Wolves to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators. In addition, defenseman MIKE SIKLENKA has been released from his contract.

ALIU recorded nine points (4G, 5A) and 53 penalty minutes in 43 games with Chicago this season. Last year, the 21-year-old forward recorded 17 points (11G, 6A) in 48 games as a rookie with the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs and collected 14 points (5G, 9A) in 13 ECHL games with the Toledo Walleye.

SIKLENKA ranks third among Wolves defensemen with 10 assists and 13 points in 36 games this season.

Last year, the 31-year-old defenseman recorded 24 goals, 24 assists and 48 points in 49 Austrian League games with Salzberg EC. He also amassed 13 points (6G, 7A) and 10 penalty minutes in 16 playoff games to help Salzburg capture the league championship.
