
Senators Re-Assign Mike Brodeur and Bobby Butler to Binghamton

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 26, 2011) - The Ottawa Senators today re-assigned goaltender Mike Brodeur and forward Bobby Butler to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators . Brodeur was recalled on Jan. 25 on an emergency basis to replace injured Pascal Leclaire, while Butler was recalled on an emergency basis on Jan. 24 to replace Jarkko Ruutu.
Brodeur has made four National Hockey League appearances this season, posting a 4.33 goals-against-average and .833 save percentage. He made his first start of the season in Ottawa's loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Jan. 21.
The Calgary native has played in four games with Binghamton this season, posting a 2-2-0 record with a 2.82 goals-against-average and .899 save percentage. In four games with the East Coast Hockey League's Elmira Jackals, he has a 3-1-0 record, with a 2.59 goals-against-average and .912 save percentage.
Butler was held scoreless in one game during his third recall of the season by the Senators. In eight NHL games this season, he has recorded no points and no penalty minutes.
A native of Marlborough, Mass., Butler has scored 19 goals while also recording 11 assists and 33 penalty minutes in 41 games with Binghamton this season.
The B-Sens, in fifth place in the AHL's East Division with a 23-18-2-3 record, next see action tonight when they visit the Adirondack Phantoms at 7 p.m.
