Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release

Wilmington, DE - A fast start by the Wilmington Blue Rocks was erased by the Potomac Nationals and then more emphatically by Mother Nature on Monday night at Frawley Stadium. The Blue Rocks got a first-inning run but saw the P-Nats pull even in the top of the fourth. That was followed by torrential rain in the top of the fifth which saw the tie game suspended until Tuesday night.

Yem Prades opened the bottom of the first with a triple off the base of the wall in left-center. He came home one batter later when Nick Van Stratten lofted a sacrifice fly to center.

Meanwhile, Michael Mariot appeared poised to make short work of the P-Nats. The right-hander escaped a first and third, one-out jam in the first, which started a string of nine consecutive batters retired. That stretch came to a close in the fourth when Steven Souza put together the game's best at-bat. Souza worked an eight-pitch one-out walk, which setup Sandy Leon's game-tying RBI double.

Mariot ran into more trouble in the fifth as he put runners at first and second with two away before the heavens opened up.

The game will resume on Tuesday at 5:05 p.m. It will be played to a nine-inning completion and then followed by a seven-inning nightcap.

Noel Arguelles (3-4, 2.92) takes the hill in the seven-frame affair for the Rocks against Potomac southpaw Danny Rosenbaum (5-5, 2.67). Broadcast coverage begins at 4:35 p.m. as studio host Adam Dobrowolski brings fans the Rocks Report Pre-game Show, presented by Wawa, on 89.7 WGLS-FM and online at wgls.rowan.edu.
