Rockies Promote Cleary Jr., Send Laruent to Asheville

Asheville Tourists News Release
The Colorado Rockies announced that Asheville all-star outfielder Delta Cleary, Jr., has been promoted to Advanced A Modesto of the California League. Cleary batted .304 with 14 stolen bases to help lead the Tourists to the first-half Southern Division title in the South Atlantic League. He also contributed 13 doubles, two triples, four home runs and 35 RBIs.
Cleary's roster spot will be filled by fellow outfielder Chandler Laurent. Laurent spent the first half of the 2012 season at Modesto and batted .177 with 11 doubles, eight stolen bases, a home run and 23 RBIs. He had an excellent season with the Tourists in 2011, when he batted .284 with 15 home runs and 50 RBIs in 80 outings.
