Rockies Fall to Chukars 7-4

Daniel Montano and Todd Czinege hit home runs, but the Rockies lost the Idaho Falls Chukars 7-4 Wednesday night at Suplizio Field.

Montano's homer, his first of the season, led off the bottom of the seventh with he Rockies trailing 5-0. Idaho Falls tallied runs in the eighth and ninth innings to make it a 7-1 game, and after Reese Berberet scored after his leadoff triple in the bottom of the ninth, Czinege followed Montano's 1-out walk with his second home run, but that was all the Rockies would get as they fall to 4-2 on the season.

Czinege finished 2-for-4, he has hit in all six games this season.

Alfredo Garcia started for the Rockies and surrendered four runs, three earned on eight hits in six innings. The first came when Nick Hutchins started the second inning with his first home run of the season, and the Chukars scored a two out run in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.

Jared Skolnicki allowed two runs, one earned in two frames as he made his professional debut, and Jesse Lepore gave up a ninth inning run.

Kyle Isbel finished 3-for-5 with three doubles and two RBI for Idaho Falls.
