Osprey and Brewers Meet for the Series Finale

MISSOULA, MONT - After splitting the first two games of the home opening series against the Helena Brewers (3-2), the Missoula Osprey (2-2) look to capture their first series win of the season Thursday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. The Osprey come off a 13-6 loss at the hands of the Brewers Wednesday.

Helena's offense started in the second inning when Nick Egnatuk drilled a solo home run. Jean Carmona delivered an RBI single to push the lead up to 2-0. The Brewers added a run in the third to take a 3-0 lead before Missoula's offense came alive.

Jesus Marriaga led off with a single before Buddy Kennedy drilled his second home run in as many days to cut the lead 3-2. Cesar Garcia and David Sanchez each smacked RBI base knocks to give the Osprey their first lead of the game at 4-3.

After a scoreless fourth, Helena's offense broke the game open with five runs, highlighted by six hits. Chad McClanahan blasted a two-run home run, while Antonio Pinero drove a two RBI double to the gap to help push the Brewers ahead 8-4.

The Osprey scored two runs in the seventh to make it a tight game when Garcia ripped a two out, two-RBI double. However, Helena tacked on five more runs in the last three innings, capped off by a Robie Rojas two- run homer in the ninth to win 13-6.

Kennedy finished the game 3-5 for the Osprey, and just a triple shy of the cycle. Garcia capped of the game with a 2-3 performance and three runs batted in.

On the mound today for the Osprey is Marcos Tineo, making his debut in the Pioneer League. The right- hander spent the 2017 season with the DSL D-backs, pitching to the tune of a 3-2 record with a 3.92 ERA. IN 59.2 innings, Tineo struck out 61 batters and walked 19.

His opposition is righty Max Lazar, who takes the mound for the second time this season. In his first start of the year Lazar pitched six shutout innings while allowing one hit and a walk. He struck out five in his debut.
