April 7, 2015 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Colorado Rockies ace Jorge De La Rosa is scheduled to make a Major League rehab start for the Albuquerque Isotopes on Opening Day this Thursday. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
De La Rosa, an 11-year Major League veteran, was placed on the disabled list with left groin tightness on April 6 (retroactive to March 27). He was originally tabbed to start Colorado's home opener on April 10 before injuring his groin.
De La Rosa began his career the Milwaukee Brewers in 2004 before a brief stint in Kansas City during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. His first year in Denver, the 34-year-old won a then-career high 10 games in 2008. Since then, he has turned in a pair of 16-win seasons and a 14-win clip a year ago. The Monterrey, Mexico, native has the Rockies' best all-time winning percentage (.763).
This will be De La Rosa's fourth stint in the PCL. He made four starts with the Iowa Cubs in 2008, posting a 3-0 record with a 1.64 ERA. Two years later, he made a trio of appearances with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, going 1-2. In 2012, he made two starts for the Sky Sox, going 0-1. He has never faced the Isotopes or pitched in Albuquerque.
Tickets for this Thursday's game are currently on sale at the Isotopes Park Box Office, abqisotopes.com and at any Ticketmaster location.
