Purple Sundays Coming to Isotopes Park
April 7, 2015 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
The Albuquerque Isotopes unveiled a new purple jersey and purple-trimmed cap today prior to the team's workout and ahead of Thursday night's season opener. Players will wear the purple threads exclusively during Sunday home games.
The Sunday jerseys feature "Isotopes" across the front in silver lettering with black outline, while the caps are black with a purple bill and purple Isotopes "A" logo.
"Since we announced our partnership with the Colorado Rockies, fans have been asking for purple uniforms and purple merchandise almost nonstop," General Manager John Traub said. "We knew we had to incorporate some purple for the fans, but we also wanted to highlight our partnership with the Rockies. This purple Sunday jersey does just that and really provides a unique look to our uniform combinations."
Fans can already purchase their own purple caps in the Isotopes Park Pro Shop now and replica jerseys will be available prior to the second homestand of the season. Additional purple items can already be found in the Isotopes Park Pro Shop, which is open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on game days. Fans can also purchase Isotopes gear online at abqisotopes.com
The Isotopes season opener is this Thursday, April 9, when they take on the Reno Aces at 6:35 p.m.
