Week 10 Recap
Rockford picked up two points during Week 10 of the 2005-06 season, slipping in two shootouts on the road. The Hogs begin a six-game homestand this week with three games at the Rockford MetroCentre.
Wednesday, December 21: Rockford IceHogs 3 at Fort Wayne Komets 4 (SO)
Friday, December 23: Rockford IceHogs 2 at Port Huron Flags 3 (SO): For the second straight game the Rockford IceHogs failed to hold a third period lead and dropped a game in the shootout. The Hogs fell 3-2 to the Port Huron Flags at the McMorran Place Arena, picking up a standing's point with only 14 players suited up. The game was back-and-forth with Rockford scoring first. Rookie defenseman Matt Gens netted his first career goal at 17:32 of the opeing period, putting Rockford up 1-0. In the second frame, Flags winger Trevor Edwards beat Hogs goalie Ronnie Vogel over the shoulder at 3:17 to tie the game at 1-1. Later in the middle period, Hogs rookie winger Robin Big Snake netted a power-play marker at 6:50 to give Rockford the 2-1 advantage. The Flags, however, responded just 1:03 into the third period when Aaron Brand notched the equalizer. In the extra session, Port Huron received goals from Edwards and Brett Lutes while the Hogs only managed one goal on Scott Hay from Olivier Proulx. Rockford outshot the Flags 34-26 in the contest.

Rookie defenseman Matt Gens scored his first career goal on Friday at Port Huron.
The IceHogs have scored six shootout goals in five overall shootouts this season. Rockford is 6-for-26 (10.6%) in the shootout.
Rookie winger Robin Big Snake has eight goals over the Hogs last 10 contests.
Defenseman Corey Hessler is fourth in the UHL in scoring amongst d-men, netting 5g-18a-23pts. His 18 helpers rank him fifth in the league.
Rockford continues to pace the UHL on the penalty kill with a kill rate of 88.6%. The Hogs are 91.1% at home, also best in the league.
The Hogs 3-2 shootout loss in Port Huron on Friday marked the first time this season in which Rockford did not win a game that they were leading after either the first or second period.
The IceHogs begin a season-high six-game homestand on Wednesday against Missouri.
Week 10 marks the Hogs first week in five-weeks in which the club will play more than two games.
Hot Hog Week 10:
Rookie defenseman Tom Zabkowicz chipped in a pair of assists for the Hogs during Week 10. Zabkowicz, one of nine rookie currently on the Hogs roster, has been a solid fill in on the defense for Rockford and has contributed while in the lineup.
Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, December 28 vs. Missouri River Otters. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The River Otters return to the MetroCetnrte once again and Wednesday means another FlyAway Wednesday with the 104.9-FM WXRX, The Rockford-Chicago International Airport and Allegiant Air. One lucky fan will walk away with a pair of airline tickets from Allegiant Air.
Friday, December 30 vs. Roanoke Valley Vipers. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Vipers match up for the first time ever. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive a 2005-06 IceHogs Team Photo from Prairie Rose Apartments, and 95.3-FM WYHY.
Saturday, December 31 vs. Motor City Mechanics. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. New Year's Eve with the IceHogs! The Hogs and Mechanics clash at the MetroCentre to close out the 2005 year. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Rally Towel from Belvidere Physical Therapy.

Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all IceHogs Regular and Post Season games on Rockford's Voice, WNTA-AM 1330. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with the B2 Networks! Log on to the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the "click here to watch the game live" icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. New to the network this season is ESPN Radio "The Jock" 1380 AM. The Jock will broadcast 20 Hogs games during the regular season. Check your local listings. Also, fans with Insight Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 20 minutes before the puck drops. Make sure to give your opinion during the 10th Inning Bar and Grill Post-Game Call-In Show following each home game at (815) 874-8255.
