Rockford IceHogs News Release

Cedar Park, Tex.- The thorn in the Rockford IceHogs side this season has been the Texas Stars. Rockford has played the West Division foe four times and has come away with one measly point.

Tonight the IceHogs get a fifth try against the West Division leading Stars and will try for their first win against one the AHL's newest teams. The game starts at 7 p.m. and can be heard on 1330 AM WNTA or on-line through www.icehogs.com.

Last night Rockford failed to hold two early leads and eventually lost 4-2 to Texas at the Cedar Park Center. Tonight's game is the second of four in Cedar Park and fifth of eight on the season.

Kyle Greentree remains hot for Rockford as he extended his team season high point streak to eight games when he chipped in a goal and an assist last night. In the 11 games since returning from injury, Greentree has 6g-5a.

Mark Cullen continues to pace the IceHogs in scoring, leading the club with 25 points. Defenseman Daryl Boyle has matched his offensive output from his entire rookie campaign, as he now has 15 points in 30 games for Rockford.

Road wins against the West Division have also eluded Rockford this year. Rockford is 0-6-1-1 away from the Rockford MetroCentre against their division.

Next Home Game: Friday, Dec. 18 vs. Chicago Wolves. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs welcome the rival Chicago Wolves into the Rockford MetroCentre for their seventh of ten meetings on the 2009-10 season.
