December 28, 2023 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kelowna Rockets News Release
For the first time in a month, the Kelowna Rockets will hit the ice at Propsera Place for a pair of home games this weekend. They'll host the Kamloops Blazers on Friday before the Calgary Hitmen roll in for a rare visit on Saturday.
GET IN ON THE BIG 50/50 ON FRIDAY WHEREVER YOU ARE IN BC
Friday's game on the 29th will feature a 50/50 jackpot that started online sales last week at $10,000. As of Thursday morning, the total pot sits at $15,630.00. Proceeds from the 50/50 will go to Kelowna Minor Hockey.
Tickets are on sale now online at rockets5050.com and will end at the start of the third period on December 29. Fans can use debit, credit or cash to purchase tickets in person at the game.
Tickets can be purchased by individuals 19 years or older, located within British Columbia's provincial borders at the time of purchase. All ticket sales are final and ticket buyers will receive a receipt via email after purchasing that will list all numbers associated with the purchased tickets.
Fans can select from the following three ticket pack options:
Five dollars ($5.00) for three (3) tickets
Ten dollars ($10.00) for ten (10) tickets
Twenty dollars ($20.00) for forty (40) tickets
LOOKING TO EVEN THINGS UP
The Rockets and Blazers didn't have to wait long to see one another. Kamloops took the opening game of the season series 3-2 on Wednesday night at the Sandman Centre, snapping the Rockets two-game win streak.
A RARE VISIT FROM THE HITMEN
The last time the Calgary Hitmen visited Kelowna was on February 17, 2020. Calgary came back from a 5-1 deficit to score four goals in the third period and seal the victory in overtime. Last season was the first meeting between the two since that game, where Kelowna downed the Hitmen 3-2 in a shootout at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Calgary will open their BC Division road trip and the second half of their season on Thursday in Prince George before heading down to Kelowna for Saturday's matchup.
