Tonight's Preview: The Kelowna Rockets play their 5th game in 7 nights when they welcome to Victoria Royals to Prospera Place. The Rockets and Royals are meeting for the fourth time this season. The Royals shutout the Rockets 3-0 at Prospers Place back on October 9th before the two teams split a pair of games in Victoria (3-1 W and 5-1 L) on November 27th and 28th. The Rockets are coming off a 3-1 loss in Everett last night. Joe Gatenby scored the lone goal in the teams 10th setback of the season. Michael Herringer took the loss in goal. The Rockets generated just 16 shots on net. The Rockets have won 22 of their last 31 games overall (22-7-1-1) and are 13-2-1-0 on home ice and 14-8-1-0 on the road. Overall; the Rockets have points in 20 of 25 games (18-5-2-0). Overall, the team has won 8 of its last 13 games.

Oh Canada! Rourke Chartier is in Finland representing Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships. The Rockets have been well represented at the World Juniors. Madison Bowey, Josh Morrissey and GM Bruce Hamilton came home with a gold medal last year from the prestigious tournament. Other notable players from the Rockets that have played for Canada include: Jamie Benn, Tyler Myers, Brandon McMillan, Tyson Barrie, Luke Schenn, Blake Comeau, Shea Weber, Josh Gorges, Chuck Kobasew, Brett McLean and Robb Gordon. Chartier is the 14th player from the Rockets to play for Team Canada.

Whistle Racking Up Winning Record: Twenty year-old Jackson Whistle is going after his 87th career win in a Kelowna Rockets uniform this evening. Here are the franchise leaders:

This and That: The Rockets are 0 for 10 on the power play in their last four games after the Christmas break....Justin Kirkland returns to the line-up tonight after serving a three game suspension for a hit last Sunday in Kamloops...Riley Stadel returned to the line-up last night in Everett after serving a one game suspension for a hit against the Blazers Monday night....The Rockets had their nine game winning streak at home snapped Wednesday night. It ties the longest home ice winning streak of the season set originally by the Seattle Thunderbirds. The Rockets have won 9 consecutive games at home in three consecutive seasons but have been unable to win 10 in a row.
