Rockets Head North for a Double Header with the Cats
October 5, 2017 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kelowna Rockets News Release
The Kelowna Rockets left Prospera Place this morning headed north to visit another divisional rival in the Prince George Cougars.
Kelowna and PG play back-to-back on Friday and Saturday night at the CN Centre in Prince George, with puck drop for both games going at 7:00pm.
Assistant Coach Travis Crickard says they don't want to forget about their game against Victoria, they would rather use that to teach the players moving forward.
"We're not moving on. We need to use that game and learn from it and what we need to take from it is the fact that we're starting to do the same thing we did at the beginning of last season. We don't want to start taking a bunch of silly penalties that end up costing us," said Crickard. "We're instilling the message to these players that bad penalties or negative attitudes will not be tolerated."
Kelowna enters Friday night with a record of 2-1-0-1. That record gives them five points and puts them in second place in the B.C. Division, five points back of the division leading Victoria Royals.
Prince George enters the game on Friday with a 2-3-0-0 record to start the season, giving them four points, and leaving them one spot back of Kelowna in B.C. Division standings.
The two clubs play on back-to-back nights, Friday and Saturday, at 7:00pm at the CN Centre in Prince George.
The Rockets are back home on Friday, October 13th, when the Calgary Hitmen visit Prospera Place. Puck drop is at 7:05pm.
Tickets are available for Rockets home games through selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
