Rockets Force Game 7 with 5-4 Win

The Kelowna Rockets have forced a seventh and deciding game of their WHL first round series with Everett with an exciting, come from behind 5-4 victory over Everett.

Tyson Barrie and Lucas Bloodoff scored third period goals as the Rockets came back from a 4-3 deficit after two periods.

The win means the home team has won every game in the series-now tied at 3-with game seven coming up on Monday back in Everett.

It was a physical and entertaining game that saw the Rockets outshoot Everett 35-16 but fall behind twice.

The Silvertips' Scott MacDonald made it 1-0 just minutes into the game but Kelowna tied the game when rookie Shane McColgan scored his first of the playoffs to make the score 1-1 after the first period.

The Rockets came out physical in the second period and it paid off with two straight goals as first Barrie and then Codey Ito scored to give Kelowna a 3-1 lead. But three straight goals by Everett including a pair of power play markers made it 4-3 Tips heading for the third.

That set the stage for the exciting third period that ignited the crowd at Prospera Place and saw the Rockets force game 7. That will be Monday at 7:05 p.m.
