
Rockets Edge Hurricanes 2-1 to Grab 1st Place

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 2-1 on Tuesday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, moving into first place overall in the WHL with the win.
Michael Herringer was outstanding in the victory as he stopped 30 of 31 shots in the game, including 12 of 13 in the third period as Kelowna snapped a two game slide with the win.
Tomas Soustal scored both Rockets goals as Kelowna improved to 35-13-3-0 on the season, one point ahead of the Hurricanes.
The Rockets led 1-0 through two periods of play as Soustal's first period goal stood up through 40 minutes.
Soustal's second of the night gave Kelown a 2-0 lead early in the third period before the Hurricanes answered back with a goal by Jordy Bellerive to make the score 2-1
The Rockets are back in action with another pair of home games this weekend as they host Spokane on Friday and Calgary on Saturday.
