The Kelowna Rockets fell 3-1 to the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC.
Rookie netminder Jake Pilon was named the game's third start after stopping 36 saves on 39 shots. Goaltender Jari Kykkanen was unavailable to play for the RocketS,, earlier in the day 16-year-old affiliate Nathan Kam was recalled to join the team as the backup.
The Rebels special teams were able to capitalize twice on the night, including the game-winner, while the Rockets were shut down on their three power play opportunities.
GAME SUMMARY
Matteo Fabrizi and Max Graham dropped the gloves just 1:15 into the game. Standing in front of Rockets starter Jake Pilon, Frantisek Formanek(3) was able to put the rebound away to give the Rebels the opening lead 5:20 into the game. The Rebels forwards then got caught behind the play, the Rockets were able to enter the zone in on a three-on-two, where Andrew Cristall set up Caden Price (2) in the slot.
With Caden Price sitting in the penalty box, Kai Uchacz (10) was able to restore the Rebels lead late in the second period.
Early into the third period the Rebels power play struck once again, with a goal from Carson Latimer (8).

The Rebels outshot the Rockets 39-27
This was the lone meeting of the season between the two

The Rockets will host their annual Tim Hortons Family Skate at Prospera Place tomorrow, Sunday, November 5, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Fans are to enter through gate one, admission to the event is a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Central Okanagan Food Bank. Please note skates must be worn to enter the ice surface, please note that there is no skate rental or skate sharpener on site.
Kelowna will now hit the road for their next four games, starting Tuesday, November 7 in Kennewick, WA against the Tri-City Americas.
The next Rockets home game is Saturday, November 18 when the Rockets will welcome the Prince George Cougars. That game will feature live music from the band Bush Party.
