
Rockets Blanked on the Road

The Spokane Chiefs defeated the Kelowna Rockets 5-0 in Spokane on Wednesday night, handing the Rockets its first loss in regulation since Dec. 16.
The Chiefs scored three times in the first period and added two more in the second en route to the win, which dropped Kelowna to 40-11-3-1 on the season.
Mitch Holmberg had a goal and an assist to lead the attack for the Chiefs, who outshot Kelowna 38-33. Five different Chiefs players hit the scoresheet.
The Rockets return to Kelowna for a much anticipated two game set this weekend at Prospera Place as the Rockets and Portland Winterhawks will play Friday and Saturday nights in Kelowna.
Interestingly, the Winterhawks also lost on Wednesday, dropping a 4-3 decision in Calgary.
Portland is the top ranked team in the CHL and is first overall in the WHL while the Rockets are ranked fourth in the CHL and are second overall in the WHL.
Tickets remain available for both games. As of Wednesday, close to 1,000 tickets were available for each game.
