
Rockers Walk-Off in Extra Innings

After struggling to put the pieces together against the Sugar Land Skeeters, it's starting to look like the Rockers are putting the puzzle together now. What started off with impressive outings by Stephen Cardullo and Hector Gomez, it was Michael Russell who became the hero. Russell would hit a walk-off base hit, followed by an error at the plate to seal the win for the Rockers 6-5 in extra innings.
In the bottom of the 1st inning, Stephen Cardullo hit his 15th home run of the season, putting the Rockers in the lead, 1-0.
In the top of the 2nd inning Michael Falsetti hit to left field, leading Tony Thomas to score, tying the game. Travis Witherspoon would come up to bat, hitting a double. Falsetti would run home, putting the Blue Crabs ahead, 2-1.
In the bottom of the 2nd inning, with Giovanny Alfonzo up to bat, Myles Schroder would steal third base, putting the Rockers in scoring position. Myles Schroder and Michael Russell would come in to score after Matt Jones would hit one down to centerfield. The Rockers would take the lead 3-2.
In the top of the 5th, Dean Green hits a double to right field, bringing in Edwin Garcia to score, tying things at 3-3.
In the top of the 8th, Charlie Valerio would hit a ground ball, allowing Tony Thomas and Jon Griffin to score, giving the Blue Crabs a 5-3 lead.
In the bottom of the 8th, Russell would hit a double to left field, bringing in Hector Gomez. With Gomez scoring, the Rockers pulled within one run of the Blue Crabs.
In the bottom of the 9th with two strikes and two outs, a wild pitch by Blue Crabs pitcher Mat Latos, would allow Stephen Cardullo to slide home and scores. With both teams tied at 5-5, the game would enter extra innings.
In the bottom of the 10th with bases loaded, Russell would reach on a missed catch by Blue Crabs catcher Charlie Valerio, allowing Hector Gomez to bring in the winning run for the Rockers.
