
Rock Cats Return Home on Thursday

New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, will return home on Thursday and open up a 7-game homestand with games against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto-AL) and Boston Red Sox affiliate, Portland Sea Dogs. The Rock Cats are off to their best start in franchise history (10-4) and just completed a 6-1 road trip. New Britain is tied for first place in the Eastern Division with Reading.
The Rock Cats have something great for fans every game beginning with the 1st ever Anti-Diet night on Thursday (6:35 PM), where fans can enjoy all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos and popcorn until the 7th inning. The Rock Cats will be facing New Hampshire LHP Bret Cecil, who spent the past 3 years with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Friday's 10:35 AM game marks the second installment of the Rock Cats' Baseball in Education series. The Baseball in Education games offer local schools a baseball-themed field trip with educational components. Talcott Mountain Science Center will be on-hand with some science exhibits and it will all be brought to fans courtesy of Achieve Financial and DATTCO. On Saturday the Rock Cats play at night (6:35 PM) with the annual Pink in the Park game presented by Health Mart, raising awareness for Breast Cancer in partnership with the CT Breast Health Initiative. There will be a free T-shirt giveaway for the first 500 women who enter the gates and a special pyrotechnics show following the game. The Rock Cats close out the New Hampshire series with a day game on Sunday (1:35 PM). The game is presented by Barnum Financial Group. Sunday is Family Fun Day with the 2nd annual Red Nose Run, featuring entertainers from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and a post game running of the bases for fans 12 years old and younger.
On Monday, the Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs make their first visit of the season the New Britain for a 3 game series. The Cats' and Dogs' will play night games (6:35 PM) on Monday and Tuesday followed by another edition of the Baseball in Education games (10:35 AM) on Wednesday.
