HOME SWEET HOME : The Red Wings improved to 31-23 at Frontier Field... the record includes a 4-4 mark as the "road" team against Empire State (Yankees).

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR : In the first game of the double-header the Red Wings posted their 8th shutout, their 7th at Frontier Field.

DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE : Coupled with a 4-0 win Saturday night the Red Wings posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time since the 2nd game of a June 22, 2007 doubleheader (7 innings) and the first game of a June 23, 2007 doubleheader (8 innings), both vs. Charlotte at Frontier Field...the Red Wings were the road team in that June 22 game, a makeup of an earlier contest in Charlotte.

D-FENSE : The Red Wings played a season-high 5 consecutive games without committing an error until Brian Dinkelman's fielding error in the second game of the doubleheader...the wings also played a season best 5 straight without an error May 26-31.

GOOSE EGGS GALORE: The Red Wings pitching staff worked 19 consecutive scoreless innings before allowing 7 runs in the 2nd inning in the 2nd game of the doubleheader.

BURN BABY BURN : In the first game of the doubleheader Nick Blackburn made his first start since being optioned to Triple-A Rochester from Minnesota Wednesday... he threw 8.0 scoreless innings for his first win as a Red Wings since August 12, 2010 vs. Gwinnett (Braves).

GOIN' THE DISTANCE : Nick Blackburn picked up the 3rd complete game and 2nd shutout by a Red Wings pitcher this season... he logged the 12th complete game of his minor league career, the 7th shutout.

HITMAN : Pedro Florimon has hit safely in 7 of his last 8 games, batting .355 (11-for-31) with 4 doubles and 5 RBI.

OH DANNY BOY : Danny Valencia's RBI single in the 8th inning of the first game of the doubleheader gave the Wings their 3rd walk-off win of the season...the other 2: June 7 vs. Norfolk (Matt Carson RBI single) and June 20 vs. Durham (Wilkin Ramirez 2-run homer).

STAYING HOT : Tsuyoshi Nishioka has hit safely in a season-high 6 straight games, batting 6-for-24 (.250) in that span... .h as also hit safely in 8 of his last 9 games and reached base safely in 11 of his last 12 games.

THAT'S A RAP : Sean Burroughs was ejected from the 2nd game of the doubleheader by home plate umpire Seth Buckminster.

SO YOU'RE AN ALL-STAR : Shortstop Pedro Florimon will be the Red Wings' representative at the Triple-A All-Star Game Wednesday at Buffalo's Coca-Cola Field.

WE'LL BE BACK : The Red Wings open at home after the All-Star Break; hosting Toledo (Tigers) for 4 games Thursday-Sunday...Toledo is the only team the Red Wings have yet to face in 2012
