HOW SWEEP IT IS: The Rochester Red Wings swept both games of their doubleheader yesterday against Buffalo, the first time the Wings have won both games of a twin bill on the road since 6/17/2019 at Pawtucket (now Worcester)...game one was highlighted by a combined eight stolen bases from the Rochester offense while tying a season-high with 12 hits in an 8-2 win...RF ALEX CALL homered twice in game two to propel the Red Wings to a 6-5, extra-inning win, including a game-winning, two-run shot in the top of the ninth...he became just the second Red Wing to homer twice in Buffalo since 1999, after OF JAMES WOOD launched two in Thursday's contest...Rochester looks to make it four-straight wins and lock up their second series victory of the season this afternoon, sending RHP THADDEUS WARD to the mound against Bisons RHP Paxton Schultz.

BEG, BORROW, OR STEAL: The Red Wings offense combined to steal eight bases in game one yesterday, led by CF JAMES WOOD with three, and 2B DARREN BAKER with two...this marks the most stolen bases in a game by a Wings team since 8/21/1992 at Silver Stadium, against Toledo...after LF JAKE ALU stole a base in game two, Rochester now posts the third-most stolen bases in the International League with 25...

In 2023, Rochester stole their 25th base on 5/16, in their 38th game of the season.

Baker leads the team with eight stolen bases (T-2nd in IL) in eight attempts, becoming the first Red Wing to steal eight bases in the first 10 games of the season since at least 2005...he is also the first Red Wing to start 8-for-8 without being thrown out since Matt Lipka stole his first 15 bases in 2022.

HOUSE CALL: RF ALEX CALL launched a pair of home runs in game two, finishing the contest 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored...this marked his sixth career multi-homer game and first since 7/18/2021 with Columbus (CLE)...the former Cleveland Guardian has now hit safely in five consecutive games since game two on 4/7 against Lehigh Valley, tied for the second-longest hitting streak on the team behind only JAMES WOOD (6 games)...

Call is now tied with JUAN YEPEZ for the team lead in home runs with three and leads the team with a .364 (4-for-11) batting average with runners in scoring position.

NOT JUAN, BUT TWO: 1B JUAN YEPEZ collected a pair of RBI singles in game one, going 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored...the Venezuela native holds sole possession of first place on the team in on-base percentage (.481, 9th in IL), RBI (11), and ranks second on the team in hits (13).

HIT THE GROUND RUNNING: With an RBI single for 1B JUAN YEPEZ in game one and a solo homer for RF ALEX CALL in game two, Rochester extended their run streak to 150 consecutive games dating back to the second half of a doubleheader on 4/8/2023 at Syracuse...this marks the longest streak in the International League, 89 games ahead of second place (IOW, 61)...no Rochester squad has scored a run in at least 100 straight games since Innovative Field opened in 1997.

BULLY-PEN: The Red Wings bullpen combined to allow just one earned run across both games of the doubleheader yesterday (8.1 IP)...RHP ADONIS MEDINA earned the win in game one after tossing 1.2 scoreless innings on one hit to keep his ERA at 0.00 (6.2 IP)... RHP JACOB BARNES tossed a scoreless inning of his own while allowing his first hit of the season (0.00 ERA, 5.0 IP) to close out the first half of the twin bill...RHP RICO GARCIA pitched 2.0 hitless innings to solidify his team-leading second win of the season in game two, leaving two Bisons' runners on base in the eighth to keep the game tied and send it to a ninth inning.

SHERIFF WOODY: Red Wings OF JAMES WOOD reached safely in both games of the doubleheader Saturday, finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI, two walks, a run scored, and three stolen bases in game one...three stolen bases is tied for the most by a Red Wing in a single game since at least 2005 (first since Andrew Stevenson on 9/13/2022)...after going 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in game two, he has now reached base in all 11 games this season, tied for the third-longest on-base streak in the International League...

Wood also leads the IL with a .415 batting average (17-for-41) and a .547 on-base percentage while posting the second-best OPS (1.254) and scoring the fourth-most runs (14).

CUZ I WALK IT OUT: The Red Wings combined to draw 16 walks in both games of yesterday's twin bill, eight in both games one and two...OF JAMES WOOD led the way with three total and is now tied for third in the International League with 12 free passes on the season...after 1B JUAN YEPEZ drew a walk in both games, he has now reached base via a base-on-ball in seven consecutive games, most in the International League and most by a Red Wing since C DREW MILLAS did so in nine consecutive games from 6/13-28/2023...

Rochester has drawn a total of 67 walks this season, fifth-most in the International League.
