October 6, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that defenseman T.J. Fast and goaltender Marc Cheverie have been assigned by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Fast, a 2005 second round selection by Los Angeles, comes to Cincinnati after spending the last two years splitting time between Alaska (ECHL) and Peoria (AHL). While with the Aces, Fast finished second among all team defensemen - posting 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists) in 46 games. Upon being called up to the AHL level, Fast notched one assist in 18 contests. Prior to going pro in 2008, he spent two seasons with the Tri-City Americans (WHL) and two years with the Denver Pioneers (NCAA).

Cheverie, a Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native, will vie for a starting spot in net with the Cyclones this season. A 2006 Florida Panthers seventh-round draft pick, Cheverie enters his rookie year after playing three seasons at the University of Denver. In 2009-10, he posted a 24-6-3 record, a 2.08 goals-against average (GAA), a 93.2% save percentage, and six shutouts. Among other accolades, he was named a Hobey Baker Award Top-10 finalist, a Reebok First-Team West All-American, and the Inside College Hockey Goaltender of the Year. In his two seasons as a starter, the six-foot-two netminder led the Pioneers to a 47-18-8 record with a 2.22 GAA.

The defending Kelly Cup Champion Cyclones open their home schedule on Saturday, October 30 at U.S. Bank Arena against the Wheeling Nailers. Discounted ticket packages and single game tickets for the 2010-2011 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) or visit CyclonesHockey.com.
