A native of French Guiana, Robo was the third overall selection by the Montreal Alouettes in this year's inaugural CFL European draft. The product of the Universite de Montreal played both pre-season games for the Alouettes, accumulating 19 rushing yards and making one catch for 10 yards.
Robo had 677 rushing yards and six touchdowns over his four-year university career. In his final season with the Carabins, he had 56 carries for 484 yards and four touchdowns in six games and his 8.6 yards-per-carry average was the highest in the Quebec conference. Robo also had 12 catches for 157 yards.
