
Roadrunners lose to Amerks

ROCHESTER, NY - Despite outshooting the Rochester Americans 39-27, the Toronto Roadrunners were defeated 6-2 at the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday night.
Nate DiCasmirro, with his fifth goal in his last four games, and Mikko Luoma, with his first career American Hockey League goal, scored for the Roadrunners.
Jiri Novotny (one goal, two assists) and Milan Bartovic (two goals) led Rochester's offensive attack. Jason Pominville, Norm Milley, and Rick Mrozik also scored for the Americans
Between the pipes, Toronto netminder Stephen Valiquette started the game and was replaced by Michael Morrison after the first period before returning to the net for the third period. Valiquette suffered the loss. Rochester goaltender Ryan Miller stopped 37 shots to earn his fourteenth win of the season.
The Roadrunners were 0 for 6 on the power play, while the Americans were 2 for 3.
The Roadrunners complete their current seven game road trip when they face the Manitoba Moose on Friday, January 23, and Saturday, January 24 in Winnipeg. Saturday's game can be seen live on Sportsnet, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Toronto's next home action will take place on Sunday, January 25, when they host the Rochester Americans at 5:00 p.m.
