RoadRunners Host Regular Season Home Finale Tomorrow
March 27, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, will look to continue their push towards the Kelly Cup Playoffs as they host their final home game of the 2008-09 regular season at 7:05 p.m. Saturday when they welcome the Alaska Aces to US Airways Center.
With five games remaining in the regular season, the RoadRunners currently sit three points behind the Stockton Thunder for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division playoffs, and seven points behind the Utah Grizzlies for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West Division playoffs. Utah visits Stockton at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Stockton Arena.
Under the revised National Conference playoff format, if the fifth-place team in the West Division has a greater winning percentage than the fourth-place team in the Pacific Division then the fifth-place team in the West Division will become the fourth seed in the Pacific Division.
Back by popular demand, the RoadRunners will also be hosting their second "Hairy Back Night" presented by 97.9 KUPD. Four contestants have already been pre-selected to advance to the finals during the second intermission at Saturday's game where the winner will receive VIP passes to UFest, a $100 gift card to Gameworks, a gift card to Fascinations, and RoadRunners' merchandise.
To honor the best fans in the ECHL, the RoadRunners will be giving away prizes throughout the night including coupons from Coach & Willie's and Famous Dave's restaurants, complimentary tickets to Big Surf Sunsplash, gift cards for laser hair removal packages to Physician Laser Centers, RoadRunners' merchandise, and much more.
Limited lower level tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (480) 784-4444, purchasing online at ticketmaster.com or by visiting the US Airways Center Box Office. For more information, call the Phoenix RoadRunners' offices at (602) 462-GOAL.
