
Road Warriors Get Collins and Stamler from Wranglers

Greenville, SC: Today the Road Warriors announced they have traded Scott Pitt to Las Vegas in exchange for Chris Collins and Bretton Stamler.
Collins, 28, has played 166 games in the AHL and scored 37 goals and 40 assists with the Providence Bruins and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The Fairport, New York native has skated in eight games this season with the Wranglers. In 2006, Collins was a Hobey Baker finalist; an award given to the top collegiate ice hockey player.
"Collins brings veteran experience and a great combination of skill, speed and grit," Head Coach Dean Stork said.
Stamler, 25, is in his first full season in the ECHL playing in 15 games with the Wranglers. He was drafted in 2005 by the Detroit Red Wings selected in the seventh round (214 overall). Last season Stamler finished his fourth year of University of New Brunswick playing in 28 games with eight goals and 12 assists.
Stork continued, "Stamler is an intelligent two way defenseman that adds stern physicality to the blue line."
The Road Warriors will return home tonight for a three game home stand. Greenville welcomes Gwinnett back to the EquilifeMD Rink at the BI-LO Center for a 7 p.m. faceoff. THE ROAD WARRIORS WILL HAVE A SPECIAL PREGAME PRESENTATION HONORING DEAN STORK FOR WINNING HIS 100th CAREER GAME AS A HEAD COACH. Thursday is Guys Night Out with $2 BEERS, HOT DOGS, PRETZELS AND FOUNTAIN DRINKS. Pro Golfer Jay Haas will be on the concourse signing autographs beginning at 6 p.m. Fans can also enjoy free professional massages from Massage Therapist Angela Jackson, and test out their Mini-Golf skills on the concourse!
