Road Warriors Deal for Condors' Leading Scorer

Greenville, SC: The Road Warriors announced today they have traded forward Francis Verreault and defenseman Kyle Haines to the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for forward, Levi Nelson.

Nelson, 24, led the Condors in points with ten goals and 14 assists in 32 games. The Calgary, Alberta native is the only player on the Condors to have a positive rating on the team. He played in Germany last season for Kaufbeuren ESV, scoring 28 goals in 31 games played. Nelson was drafted in 2006 by the Boston Bruins in the 6th round, 158th overall.

"Levi will add great intensity and experience to our team," said Head Coach Dean Stork. "Both Haines and Verreault showed great promise as rookies, but this move brings us one step closer to build a championship team this season."

Verreault played in 32 games with the Road Warriors scoring seven goals, 14 assists and a +9 rating. Haines appeared in 18 games for Greenville with four goals, four assists and a +6 rating.

The Road Warriors are back at the EquilifeMD Rink in BI-LO Center next Friday and Saturday for Cap' N' Crunch Weekend presented by WYFF and 92.5 WESC. The Road Warriors take on the Florida Everblades on Friday at 7 p.m. with a T.J. Reynolds Banner giveaway to the first 1,000 fans. Hockey Happy Hour begins on Friday at 5 p.m. with FREE FOOD, DISCOUNTED DRINKS AND ATTRACTIONS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY presented by Chief's Wings and Firewater and ABC Party Rentals. On Saturday, the Road Warriors host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7 p.m. with the first 1,500 fans receiving a T.J. Reynolds Bobblehead.
