
Road Warriors Avoid Sweep with 4-2 Win

Bridgewater, NJ- The Road Warriors avoided the sweep by defeating the Somerset Patriots 4-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday night.
The Road Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on a sacrifice fly by Luis Nieblas, scoring Carlos Sosa, who had reached on an error to lead off the inning.
The Patriots answered in the bottom of the frame on a solo home run by Jeff Nettles (12) to even up the score at 1-1.
The Road Warriors regained the lead on a three run home run by Sosa (16) for a 4-1 advantage.
A sacrifice fly by Josh Pressley in the bottom of the eighth cut the lead in half to 4-2.
Road Warriors starter Jason Norderum (2-3) picked up the win, allowing a run on four hits in five innings pitched. Patriots starter Nic Ungs (3-7) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on four hits in 5.1 innings pitched. Adam Thomas earned his tenth save of the season with a scoreless inning pitched.
