For the second straight night, the Lake Erie Monsters (9-6-0-0) managed 29 shots on goal, but were again held off the scoreboard, falling to the Abbotsford Heat (9-1-1-2) by a 2-0 score on Wednesday night. There was no scoring in the game until the third period, when Abbotsford's Brett Olson scored the eventual game-winner from in front of the net on a centering feed from Ben Street at the 5:50 mark. Chris Breen scored on a shot into the top corner of the net at 10:42 to add an insurance tally for the Heat, making the score 2-0.
