Road Trip Continues Tonight in Wichita

Wichita, Kansas - The Allen Americans continue their two-game road trip tonight in Wichita, as the Americans and Thunder play the first of three in a row between the two teams.
The Americans are coming off a tough 5-1 loss last night in Kansas City. A rough second period for Allen, which allowed 21 shots on goal in the second period and three Kansas City goals.
The Americans opponent tonight Wichita, is coming off a shootout win over Idaho.
"It's always a battle when we line up against these guys," said Americans defenseman David Makowski.
This will be the first of 14 games between the two clubs this season. The Americans will be back in Wichita next Friday, before the two clubs meet a week from tonight in Allen for the Americans home opener.
Americans defenseman Mike Gunn left last night's game against Kansas City with an upper body injury. He's listed as day to day. Allen has two players on the trip that didn't play last night. Both Zach Pochiro and Dalton Thrower are expected to be in the lineup this evening. Miles Liberati, Eric Roy, Kevin Sundher and Chad Butcher did not make the trip.
Wichita has two former Americans players on their roster. Dyson Stevenson, who played parts of three seasons in Allen and Travis Brown, who spent the 2016-2017 season with Allen. Also on the Thunder roster is Coppell, Texas native Colin Jacobs, who was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Jacobs has been playing professional hockey since 2013.
