August 5, 2019 - American Association (AA)
Chicago Dogs News Release
ROSEMONT, Ill. - Chicago Dogs All-Star slugger Victor Roache has been named the American Association's Player of the Week.
Roache is the league's honoree for the week ending August 4th. This marks Roache's second Player of the Week award this season, previously earning the honor on June 3rd. It also marked the Dogs' fifth Player of the Week award on the year.
In seven games, Roache belted five home runs to increase his season total to 18, moving him into second place in the league home run leaderboard. That total trails only teammate Keon Barnum's 22 big flies for the most in the American Association.
The Ypsilanti, Michigan native was nearly unstoppable at the plate against Cleburne, Fargo-Moorhead and St. Paul, slashing a .375 batting average, 1.000 slugging percentage, and 1.531 OPS while totaling 13 RBI, 24 total bases and eight runs scored.
The Dogs have the day off today before opening a three-game series against the Milwaukee Milkmen on Tuesday night at Impact Field. First pitch is slated for 7:05 PM.
