The Rivermen opened the scoring at 15:22 of the first period when the Rivermen got a two-on-one and Connor Toomey passed to Steve Morra on the left wing before Morra dropped off to Matt Summers trailing the play, and Summers buried the puck past Huntsville goaltender Jordan Ruby for the 1-0 lead.

After the Havoc pulled their goaltender for an extra skater with just under two minutes to play, Peoria came away with the puck from their own zone and passed up to Alec Hagaman, who put the empty-netter in under the crossbar at 18:42 of the third to give Peoria the 3-0 victory.

Rivermen goaltender Francois Brassard got the start in place of an injured Kyle Rank, and picked up his first professional shutout, stopping all 22 Huntsville shots on goal. The win is Brassard's first since he won his pro debut November 7 at Louisiana.
