The Peoria Rivermen players will be answering phones and lending a helping hand for the Children's Hospital of Illinois 10th Annual Radiothon for Kids. The Radiothon will take place from Dec. 9-10 and will be hosted by John Riley on 93.3 The Drive. Any person who makes a donation, of at least $5, on Dec. 9 between 2-3:30 p.m. will receive four tickets to the Rivermen game on Sunday, Dec. 19.
Dean Arsene, Brennan Evans, Ryan Reaves, Phil McRae, Jake Allen, Mark Cundari, Anthony Nigro and Dave Spina will all be participating in the Radiothon. The Radiothon is broadcast from the beautiful new Children's Hospital and along the way listeners will learn about this world-class pediatric hospital located right in our community and hear from several of the hospital's patients.
Last year's RadioThon raised more than $115,000. Over the years, that total has climbed to more than one million dollars raised for the children and families who are cared for by Children's Hospital of Illinois.
Aside from phoning in donations, drive-thru donations will also be accepted at circle drive in front of the new Children's Hospital building, accessed off Berkeley Ave. in Peoria. Volunteers will retrieve donations curbside.
