PEORIA, Ill. (January 10, 2010) - Chet Pickard made 18 saves and came within 47 seconds of his second shutout of the season as the Milwaukee Admirals beat the Peoria Rivermen 4-1 on Sunday at Carver Arena. Peoria finished the weekend with a 1-2-0 record after playing three games in as many nights.

Hannu Toivonen made 23 saves as the Rivermen fell to 20-15-1-3 and are now six points back of the first-place Admirals.

After Mike Santorelli scored at 18:22 of the first period, Milwaukee scored twice in 33 seconds to open up a 3-0 lead in the opening minutes of the second. Ryan Maki batted a pass out of midair past Toivonen at 4:34 and Robert Dietrich slapped home a power-play shot at 5:07. It was the second goal of the season for both players and the Admirals finished 1-for-3 on the man advantage.

At 10:17 of the third, Mark Santorelli gave the Admirals a 4-0 lead. Colin Wilson rang one of crossbar just seconds before Chris Mueller fed Mark Santorelli at the side of the goal. It was the ninth of the season the younger Santorelli.

Talbot's goal came on the power play at 19:13 of the third period. Pascal Pelletier and Justin Fletcher kept a scramble alive in front of the goal long enough for Talbot to wrist the puck past Pickard.

Peoria had won four out of the first five meetings with the Admirals prior to Sunday's game and the two rivals will not meet again until Feb. 28.

The Rivermen are on the road on Friday to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at 6 p.m. They return home the next night for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff with the Rockford IceHogs. Actor David Henrie from Wizards of Waverly Place will be on hand signing autographs beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Rivermen office, on the phone at 309-676-1040 or online at www.rivermen.net/tickets.
