RiverKings wrap up long road trip with win in Austin

AUSTIN, TX --- The Memphis RiverKings closed out the longest road trip in franchise history Saturday night with a 2-1 win over the Austin Ice Bats at the Chaparral Ice Center in Austin, TX. The win gave the RiverKings a 5-4-0 record on the trip as the team will play at the DCC for the first time since February 1 on Friday versus the Youngstown Steelhounds at 7:05.

Jason Sessa and Ryan Held each scored for the RiverKings as the team improved to 34-12-3 on the season. Sessa's goal was his team leading 27th and it was also his 6th goal in the last seven games. Held's goal was his 11th and the fourth in his last three games.

Kevin Schieve picked up his fourth win on the road trip and his fifth win of the season with 8 save performance. The RiverKings closed out the long nine game, 17 day road trip by winning three straight.
