
RiverKings Strike Oil, Beat Tulsa 8-3

Seven different Mississippi RiverKings registered two points each as the RiverKings blasted the Tulsa Oilers 8-3 Tuesday at DeSoto Civic Center.
Steve Slonina led the attack with two goals, his first of the season. Louis Dumont, Ryan Held, Rick Kozak, and Ryan Kindret each had a goal and an assist. Chad Woollard and Derek Landmesser each had two assists.
David Beauregard gave the OIlers a 1-0 lead early in the game, but Slonina and Dumont scored before the end of the first period to make it 2-1 'Kings. Slonina and Kozak made it 4-1 early in the second period.
The Oilers got goals from Lance Herauf and Paul Kelly to make it a 4-3 game midway through the game, but Held's goal with 3:10 remaining in the second period prevent the Oilers from getting any closer.
Goals from Aaron Davis and Ryan Campbell sandwiched Kindret's marker in the final period.
Sebastien Centomo made 15 saves for the RiverKings and won his second straight start in his second tour of duty with the team. Kevin St. Pierre stopped 25 out of 30 shots through two periods, with Clint Chalmers making 14 saves in the third.
The RiverKings went two for 10 on the power play. The Oilers scored once in nine opportunities.
The RiverKings have a home-and-home series with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs this weekend. Friday's game in Bossier City and Saturday's game in Southaven both begin at 7:05 p.m.
