RiverKings rally but fall short in Tulsa

TULSA, OK --- The Memphis RiverKings rallied from a 2-0 third period deficit, but the Tulsa Oilers scored the final two goals of the game for a 4-2 win Saturday night in Tulsa.

Tulsa scored the only two goals of the first two stanzas in the first period and held that 2-0 lead entering the third. That lead did not stick as the RiverKings dominated play in the third; outshooting the Oilers 21-7 and scoring two goals to tie the game. Dorian Anneck scored his first goal since coming off the IR and his 12th overall at 6:33 of the third. Taras Foremsky then made the comeback complete as he took a deflection off an Oiler skate in front of the net and slipped it past Oiler goalie Marco Emond at 12:03.

For Tulsa's game winner, newly acquired wing Mike Lukajic converted a three on one with a minute-35 left. Jim Dahl's second of the night was into an empty net 41 seconds later to make the final 4-2. Guy St Vincent stopped 35 of 38 shots, but took the loss, while Emond improved to 3-0-1 against the RiverKings this season on the power of a 39 save performance.

Memphis finished with a 41-39 shots advantage, but fell for a season-high sixth straight game.

The RiverKings are off until Tuesday when they return home to host the Lubbock Cotton Kings at the DeSoto Civic Center at 7:05.
