SOUTHAVEN, Miss.—The RiverKings were involved Saturday in some fierce competition, combining their accuracy and skill with that of RiverKings fans during the "Kings of the Alley" bowling day to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Following on the heels of two wins against the Fort Worth Brahmas and the Colorado Eagles, the afternoon took on a celebratory air. The entire team came out to support the event, taking turns and rotating in the open spot on each fan bowling team.

"I like bowling," RiverKings forward Trent Dickson said. "I took it in college. I'm no good at it, but it's fun to come out and interact with everyone."

The event was sponsored by ‘Kings With A Cause, the fan club that supports the team's agenda of working with charities and non-profit groups. Other sponsors of the event included Gal*e*leo Gallery, Bob Evans restaurant, Hooters of Horn Lake, and 1910 Frameworks and Gallery.

The club raised about $500, including lane sponsorships, registration fee and a raffle, which boasted a framed, team-autographed proof of this year's trading cards; team-autographed stick, bowling pin, and pennant; RiverKings baseball caps, Elvis pucks, and a DVD copy of "Blue Suede Skates."

Judy Frye, a ‘Kings With A Cause and Booster Club member, said the afternoon was a success.

"I think the guys are great with the fans, and everybody seems to be having a great time," Frye said.

The players and the fans weren't the only ones reaping the benefits of the afternoon. Perhaps the most important people being served at the event weren't present to see it: the patients who live with cystic fibrosis every day, and their families.

"I am just thrilled with the turnout of all the fans," Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Director Holly Thomas said. "I am so grateful to the RiverKings for doing this partnership with Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It means so much to everyone who has cystic fibrosis or has a tie with the disease."
