Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN---The Memphis RiverKings announced today that they have recalled rookie forward Aaron Lewis from the Huntsville Havoc of the S.P.H.L. This is the third time this season and the second time in the past 11 days that Memphis has recalled a player from Huntsville.
The 28 year-old Lewis played junior hockey in England and in Holland from 1998 to 2000. He also played in Germany, Austria and Sweden before coming home to North America this season, his first season of Minor Pro League Hockey in North America. In 34 games this season with the Havoc, Lewis had 11 goals, 6 assists, 50 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of plus-two.
Lewis is five foot-11, 200 pounds and is a native of Sharbot Lake, Ontario, Canada.
Current RiverKings forward Tim Plett was called up from Huntsville on January 14. The RiverKings also tapped into the Huntsville talent pool when they brought up Dan Buccella on November 23. Buccella played just one game for the RiverKings before electing to go back to the Havoc.
The RiverKings will next be in action this Friday as they host the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:05. The first 1,500 fans that night will receive a DeSoto Athletic Club water bottle. That game will be followed by the defending President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks coming to town for a 7:05 game on Saturday. It will be Miller Lite Nascar Night with an appearance by Rusty Wallace's Show Car.
A RiverKings game can be even more fun when you take it in with your group or organization. Get your group together and have a great time at the DeSoto Civic Center. For more information or to purchase season tickets, group tickets, mini-plans, or 9 game vouchers call the RiverKings at 662-342-1755 and ask for the sales department or stop by the DCC during business hours.
