Less than two minutes later, Quade Lightbody led a rush with Chris Brassard who scored his 19th goal of the season at 14:06 to give the Mudbugs the lead they would not relinquish. In the third period, Shane Palahicky one-timed a shot past Bateman and Brett Smith would add insurance for the 4-1 win.
MEMPHIS POWERS PAST MUDBUGS â Don Parsons scored a hat trick and the Memphis RiverKings defeated the Mudbugs on Sunday afternoon 8-3 at the DeSoto Civic Center. Chris Brassard scored the first goal of the game just 2:48 into the first period, but Memphis picked up a power play goal from Ted Crowley and then took the lead with a goal from Alan Carr just four seconds after another power play chance ended. Scott Sheppard and Chad Kemp would tie the game for the Mudbugs on two occasions, but Parsons scored his first early in the second period the RiverKings notched five unanswered goals for the 8-3 win.
