Riverhounds Host Richmond Kickers on Sunday at Highmark Stadium

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
PITTSBURGH- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds look to bounce back from a strange and disappointing road trip as they face off against the Richmond Kickers at 3:00PM on Sunday, June 22 at Highmark Stadium.
In a game that was marred and shortened by severe weather delays, the Riverhounds fell to the Chicago Fire, of Major League Soccer (MLS), 2-1, in the fourth round of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at Toyota Park, in Bridgeview, Illinois . After two delays due to severe weather, the officials called the match in the 50th minute due to continuing bad weather.
"The game was not over, but yes it was disappointing," said interim head coach Niko Katic.
"We played strong the first 20 minutes. You aren't going to come in here and win a possession game against the Chicago Fire, but I thought our guys were outstanding out of the gates. We lost a man on a corner, but that happens and we need to get better at avoiding that. We bounced back, we were ready for the second half, but it was out of our hands".
This will be the third match of the season between the two clubs, with the first two coming at City Stadium in Richmond.
The Kickers topped the Riverhounds 3-1 on April 5th behind a two-goal effort from midfielder Kyle Porter. Collins John scored from close range with 10 minutes remaining in regulation to pull the 'Hounds within reach at 2-1, but Porters second goal of the match in stoppage time sent the Riverhounds home empty-handed.
Two weeks later, the Riverhounds jumped out to a 2-0 advantage on goals from Brian Ownby and Jhonny Arteaga. Porter would once again play a key role as he and forward Matthew Delicate scored late in the game to even things up and send the 'Hounds home with the consolation point.
Richmond (7-1-6, 27 points) currently sits in second place on the USL PRO table, trailing only Orlando City. The Riverhounds (1-7-5, 8 points) remain at the bottom of the standings.
There will be a T-shirt giveaway to all fans in attendance, sponsored by Highmark.
