Riverhawks add guard, 13th man for weekend games

Davenport - The Quad City Riverhawks (14-5) and leading the Central Division of the White Conference announced the signing of 6'3" 195lb Guard Marlon Parmer out of Kentucky Wesleyan. Parmer most recently played in Poland and was a 1st Team All CBA selection with the Rockford Lightning in 2005-2006. Prior to joining the Lightning, Parmer was a top prospect for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Quad City also activated St. Ambrose and Black Hawk University grad Murphy Carter for tonight's game.

For the Friday, January 12 game presented by NewsChannel 8 the Riverhawks signed a 6'5" 260lb Forward - Devin Frenell, 22 out of Colona, Illinois. Frenell was the winner of a contest held on NewsChannel 8 WQAD-TV (ABC).

To make room for Parmer and Carter, the Riverhawks released SirValiant Brown and Iowa State grad Anthony Davis.

The Riverhawks next home game is tonight against the Twin City Ballers (4-14) at the Field House Sports Complex (formerly Marycrest). Following tonight's game, local comedian Chris Schlichting will do some stand-up comedy in the Above the Rim Skybox. The "War on 74" continues Friday, January 12 at 7:05pm when the Peoria Kings(8-11) return to the Quad Cities.
