Charleston RiverDogs News Release

CHARLESTON, SC -- Please excuse the Holy City as it breaks wind when the RiverDogs salute the Clemson Wind Project in North Charleston Wednesday night when the team battles the Greenville Drive.

The project, announced last November, is set to put North Charleston further on the map as a key contributor to the research and development of wind-based power alternatives. Organizers plan to have the facility fully operational by 2012.

Cool off and beat the oppressive summer heat as we again put the *fan* in "Be Your Own Fan" when we salute all things that involve the wind. There will be bean specials, blow races, pinwheels and $2 whoopee cushions available in the souvenir shop throughout Wednesday's game.

Not only will the project bring the eyes of the energy development community towards the Charleston area, the venture should also boost the economy in the Lowcountry, providing numerous work opportunities. The club will hold wind-based promotions throughout the contest and boost the economy around Riley Park as our interns put the front office staff to work for *The Interns Run the Show* night.

There will even be a small wind-conducting experiment with a RiverDogs twist, as our interns brighten a light bulb on a string with the help of pinwheels. Who said baseball games weren't educational?

So grab a seat -- preferably not down-wind -- and help the RiverDogs support the Clemson Wind Project as The Holy City Breaks Wind.

The RiverDogs begin their four-game series vs. the Greenville Drive, the Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, on Wednesday, July 28 at 7:05 p.m. For more information on tickets visit www.riverdogs.com or call the RiverDogs Box Office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647).
