AUGUSTA, GA - Hickory Crawdads starter RHP Neil Ramirez shut out the Augusta GreenJackets through six innings in the 'Dads 6-0, rain-shortened, seven-inning win at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Monday night. Ramirez recorded a team single-game high of 10 strikeouts and RF Jared Prince extended his hitting streak to 15 games.

Hickory (18-13, 58-43) pulled in front early with two runs against Augusta starter LHP Craig Clark (2-2, 4.50 ERA) in the top of the second inning. With the bases loaded and nobody out, 3B Matt West was hit by a pitch to drive in DH Zach Zaneski for the first run of the game. LF Yefry Castillo then hit into an RBI fielder's choice to 3B Chris Dominguez, plating C Vinny DiFazio from third to put the 'Dads ahead, 2-0.

The Crawdads scored again in the third inning with two outs. After Zaneski walked to extend the frame, DiFazio laced a double off the wall in left-center field to put Hickory up, 3-0 .

The 'Dads tacked on three more insurance runs in the fifth to pad their lead. After SS Jonathan Roof led off the inning with a single, Prince lined an RBI double to the gap in left-center to bring him in from first. After moving up to third on a sacrifice fly, Prince scored on an RBI double by 1B Jared Bolden, with Bolden taking third on a misplayed throw back to the infield. CF Guillermo Pimentel capped off the night's scoring with an RBI infield single to Dominguez at third to bring in Bolden and increase the Crawdads lead to the eventual final score of 6-0.

After RHP Sam Brown recorded the first out of the top of the seventh inning for the 'Dads, the game went into a 36 minute delay due to inclement weather before being called.

Ramirez (8-7, 4.73 ERA) allowed just five hits in his six scoreless frames with the 10 strikeouts to pick up the win for Hickory. Clark took the loss for the GreenJackets.
