CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston RiverDogs were throttled for 11 runs by the Lexington Legends in an 11-4 final on Friday night at Joe Riley Park in front of a crowd of 5,152.

Lexington (14-12) hung a five spot on the Dogs (13-15) in the third inning to take a 7-3 lead. That would be the final lead change of the game as the Legends went on to pile up 15 hits, including six doubles, one triple, and a sixth inning home run.

It was the first time the RiverDogs' pitching staff that entered play with the lowest ERA and fewest runs allowed yielded double digits in the run column. The 15 hits by the Legends were also a season-high given up.

Four of the Lexington runs went unearned as the RiverDogs committed three errors, their fourth straight contest with multiple defensive mishaps. Daniel Ramos (2-2) pitched into the third, striking out four batters and getting tagged four three unearned tallies.

Offensively, shortstop Wilkerman Garcia collected a pair of base knocks, including an RBI hit to score Leonardo Molina in the second inning. Right fielder Steven Sensley launched his fifth home run of the campaign. All the Baton Rouge, LA native's long balls have been solo shots.

Chris Hess had an infield hit in his first at-bat, extending the third baseman's hitting streak to five games.

The Legends have taken four of the first five games against the RiverDogs this season. Their six doubles and eight extra base hits were each the most against the RiverDogs in a single game this season.

Royals No. 1 prospect Nick Pratto went 3-for-5 for Lexington, including clubbing his fourth home run of the season and second in as many nights with a two-run shot in the sixth inning off Kyle Zurak.

Ballpark Fun

Although The Force was not with the RiverDogs, they entertained fans with the scores of legendary composer John Williams throughout the night. The Dogs honored the songwriter who wrote the scores for famous films such as E.T., Jurassic Park, and the Star Wars series on May the Fourth with a Home Telecom postgame fireworks show in conjunction with WEZL and Live 5 News. It was also a Red Shirt Friday honoring the military; fans that wore red saved a buck at the gate with the option to donate that dollar to the Palmetto Military Support Group.

Game two of the four-game wraparound set between Charleston and Lexington will start at 6:05 on Saturday. Righty Garrett Whitlock (1-1, 1.33), who has not allowed a run in his last three starts spanning 17 innings, will take on Lexington right-hander and former first-round pick Nolan Watson (2-1, 5.79). The game will be broadcast on 1250 WTMA in the tri-county area with "Saturday Dog Talk" beginning at 5:30. There will be online streaming audio also available worldwide on riverdogs.com, through the RiverDogs TuneIn radio app and on MiLB.tv.
