Augusta GreenJackets News Release
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, in conjunction with Augusta University Health & the Georgia Cancer Center have teamed up to host "Pink in the Park Weekend" an annual breast cancer awareness event that celebrates survivors and raises money for the Georgia Cancer Center at SRP Park on May 12th and 13th.
"Holding the "Pink in the Park' celebration on Mother's Day gives us the opportunity to recognize the many mothers touched by breast cancer," said Dr. John Cowell, interim director of the Georgia Cancer Center. "Statistics show one in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with some form of breast cancer during their lifetime."

"We are honored to partner with Augusta University Health and the Georgia Cancer Center to celebrate the first Pink in the Park Weekend at SRP Park," stated GreenJackets Vice President Tom Denlinger.
