Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, S.C. -Â The Charleston RiverDogs and Delmarva Shorebirds were interrupted by a passing storm cell on Saturday night at Joe Riley Park, suspending game two's matchup in the second inning with the RiverDogs trailing, 1-0. The two teams will pick up the suspended game on Sunday afternoon starting at 3:05 p.m. and finish with a second game of a double-header approximately 30 minutes after its conclusion.
Game one of tomorrow's twin bill, the suspended game from Saturday, will finish out as a full nine-inning contest. The second game of the twin bill will be just a seven-inning tilt.
Tickets from Saturday night's game may be redeemed for any future RiverDogs home game (excludes July 4) at the Riley Park box office.
Delmarva took a 1-0 lead just before the tarp came on the field. A leadoff double by designated hitter Seamus Curran was stretched out an extra 90 feet on a ball misplayed in left by Pablo Olivares. Curran scored unearned on a sacrifice fly by first baseman Ryan Ripken to left. The run went unearned against Charleston starter Rony Garcia.
Saturday marks the seventh RiverDogs game affected by weather this year. It is a first game suspended in process this year.
Sunday's game will be broadcast on 1250 WTMA in the tri-county area, with audio available at riverdogs.com and the RiverDogs TuneIn radio station. There is also video streaming available on MiLB.TV. A portion of Sunday's double-header will be broadcast as well on Lowcountry television on MyTV Charleston (Channel 36).
RiverDogs single-game tickets, including options to the Riley Park Club, are now available for the 2018 campaign, the club's 25th season as the RiverDogs and their "175th season in dog years." Ticket information can be secured by contacting the box office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com/tickets.
